DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN TANZANIA

Our Tanzania Wildlife and Cultural Safari will start in Tanzania’s tourism capital, Arusha. We shall arrive via the Kilimanjaro Airport, where our Tour Leader will be ready to receive us and kick start our journey. We shall then head to our hotel in Arusha, where we shall check in.

On this day, if we have an early arrival, we may explore local attractions around Arusha. Otherwise, we can relax and enjoy the nice Arusha weather from our lodge.; preparing for our Tanzania Wildlife and Cultural Safari.

DAY 2, 3 AND 4: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

We shall enjoy game drives in this wonderful park as we enjoy the scenery of these vast plains. Serengeti National Park is Tanzania’s most-famous park and arguably the best National Park in East Africa. This wonderful place is a major highlight on our Tanzania Wildlife and Cultural Safari. The park is predominantly grassland savannah, with sparsely distributed bushlands, wetlands and riverine woodlands. We shall also spend time looking around some of the famous rock outcrops, often referred as Kopjes.

Look out for many large animals such as Leopard, Cheetah, Cape Buffalo, assorted Gazelles, Black Rhino, Maasai Giraffe, Blue Wildebeest, Common Zebra, Spotted Hyena, Serval, Caracal, Nile Hippo, Nile Crocodile, Nile Monitor Lizard, Savannah Elephant and African Lion.

Birds here are plenty and we can expect species such as Fischer’s Lovebird, Yellow-billed Stork, Kori Bustard, Grey Crowned Crane and Grey-breasted Spurfowl.

Here you shall also get an opportunity to learn all about the famous Serengeti migration and get to follow in the steps of the Wildebeests in a lovely Kopje rock, modelled to imitate the migration cycle. This is always a highlight on our Tanzania Wildlife and Cultural Safaris.

DAY 5: OL DUVAI GORGE PRE-HISTORIC SITE AND MAASAI VILLAGE VISIT

We shall then make our way to a phenomenal pre-historic site, the Ol Duvai or Ol Dupai Gorge Museum. This site has led to multiple archaeological and paleontological discoveries; and is often a highlight on our Tanzania Wildlife and Cultural Safari. Home to the great work by Louis and Mary Leakey, this is a phenomenal destination. Some famous discoveries here include Zinjanthropus, Homo habilis and Homo erectus. You will get to learn all about the work going on at the site in a very interactive way.

We shall then visit a Maasai tribe village where we shall learn about their ways of life. We shall enjoy a guided tour of one of the local villages led by a community member.

We shall then head to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, a large and scenic crater located at about 2000m above sea level. We shall have an opportunity to learn about the crater and also view models of the entire area. This crater is about 600m deep and has an amazing view both from the top and inside the crater. The crater is nestled in a pristine natural forest, full of beautiful indigenous trees.

DAY 6: NGORONGORO CRATER

We shall enjoy the day at this beautiful crater, which will be the crown jewel of our Tanzania Wildlife and Cultural Safari. The mighty Ngorongoro is indeed an amazing place. It is known as one of the wonders of Africa. Descending down the crater floor takes you through great scenery and you get to experience the local Euphorbia tree varieties.

Herds of wild animals are plenty inside the crater as well as wonderful views of the crater walls. Look out for the local Lions, Black Rhinos, Common Zebras, Cheetah, assorted Gazelles, Nile Hippos and Wildebeests.

Later we shall proceed to our lodge located nearby.

DAY 7: LAKE EYASI AND HADZABE TRIBE – THE HUNTERS AND GATHERERS

We shall leave early to spend a day with the exciting tribe of hunters and gatherers who live near Lake Eyasi; within the Great Rift Valley. The Hadzabe or Hadza tribe are the most exciting of the Tanzanian cultures; having retained most of their traditional ways of life. This site is a major highlight on our Tanzania Wildlife and Cultural Safaris.

In the afternoon we shall return to our lodge for a relaxed evening.

DAY 8: COFFEE FARM TOUR - TO ARUSHA

On this day, you will enjoy a relaxed breakfast at your hotel. You will then join our guide on a coffee farm tour. Here you will learn about the art of growing and processing African coffee.

After the farm tour, you will enjoy lunch and return to Arusha. You will then take an airport transfer for your flight home.

This marks the end to our lovely Tanzania Wildlife and Cultural Safari.
