Kilimanjaro to Masai Mara Safari

KILIMANJARO TO MASAI MARA SAFARI

Trip duration

7 days/ 6 nights

The Kilimanjaro to Masai Mara Safari can be combined with the Mombasa Beach Holidays.

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN KENYA – NAIROBI, THE AFRICAN SAFARI CAPITAL

Our Kilimanjaro to Masai Mara Safari will start in Kenya’s tourism capital, Nairobi. We shall arrive via the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where our Tour Leader will be ready to receive us and kick start our journey. We shall then head to our hotel in Nairobi, where we shall check in.

On this day, if we have an early arrival, we may explore local attractions around Nairobi. The city has a national park at its edge, making it one of the most special conservation cities globally. Otherwise, we can relax and enjoy the nice Nairobi weather from our hotel; preparing for the Kilimanjaro to Masai Mara Safari.

Night in Nairobi.

DAY 2 AND 3: AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK – MIGHTY ELEPHANTS AT THE FOOTHILLS OF MT. KILIMANJARO

The Kilimanjaro to Masai Mara Safari continues to the exciting Amboseli National Park, where a great safari adventure awaits. This amazing place is regarded as one of Kenya’s Premium Parks, and is located at the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The best views of Mt. Kilimanjaro are often had early in the morning or in the late afternoon – although on some months the mountain is visible all day. The park is graced by mighty Savannah Elephants, and hosts the longest and most-famous elephant research program in the entire World.

The mammals here are great indeed (including African Lion, Spotted Hyena, Yellow Baboon, Common Warthog, Cheetah, Lesser Kudu, Serval, Caracal, African Civet, Nile Hippo, Waterbuck, Blue Wildebeest and Maasai Giraffe); and we shall take time to enjoy them. The local birds are great and we shall be hoping to enjoy many species like Lesser Flamingo and Kori Bustard.

Nights in Amboseli.

DAY 4, 5 AND 6: MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE – PREDATORS GALORE

We shall then take a domestic flight to the mighty Masai Mara; via Nairobi. Masai Mara is an extension of the mighty Serengeti ecosystem that starts in Northern Tanzania. This is one of the most productive savannah habitats in the entire World, hosting amazing numbers of herbivores and predators.

Renowned for the annual wildebeest migration, which is often regarded as the 8th Wonder of the World, Masai Mara National Reserve is the crown of our Kilimanjaro to Masai Mara Safaris. Considered the ultimate wildlife haven in Kenya, this reserve has a lot to offer in terms of wildlife, landscapes and culture.

We shall spend the next days learning about this magical destination with our safari guide. Enjoy interesting game drives as you track the Spotted Hyena, Black-backed Jackal, Maasai Giraffe, African Elephant, Nile Hippo, Topi, Blue Wildebeest, Common Eland, Grant’s Gazelle, Naivasha Dikdik, Thompson’s Gazelle, the Big Cats- Lion, Cheetah and Leopard and much more. Nile Crocodiles and Nile Monitor Lizards often bask along the river edges hoping to get their meals. The local birds include Southern Ground Hornbill, Kori Bustard, Red-necked Spurfowl and Secretarybird.

Nights in Mara.

DAY 7: MASAI MARA TO NAIROBI
