DAY 1: ARRIVAL – NAIROBI, THE AFRICAN SAFARI CAPITAL

Our Luxury Kenya Photography Safari will start in Kenya’s tourism capital, Nairobi. We shall arrive via the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where our Tour Leader will be ready to receive us and kick start our journey. We shall then head to our hotel in Nairobi, where we shall check in.

On this day, if we have an early arrival, we may explore local attractions around Nairobi. Otherwise, we can relax and enjoy the nice Nairobi weather from our lodge.

DAY 2, 3 AND 4: AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK – MIGHTY ELEPHANTS AT THE FOOTHILLS OF MT. KILIMANJARO

We shall then drive South to Amboseli National Park, where the Luxury Kenya Photography Safari adventure continues. This amazing place is regarded as one of Kenya’s Premium Parks, and is located at the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The park is graced by mighty Savannah Elephants, and hosts the longest and most famous elephant research program in the entire World.

The mammals here are great indeed (including African Lions, Cheetah, Caracal, Yellow Baboon, Blue Wildebeest and Maasai Giraffe); and we shall take time to enjoy them. The local birds are great and we shall be hoping to enjoy many species; such as African Fish Eagle, Great White Pelican and Lesser Flamingo.

We shall enjoy photography game drives every morning and afternoon. We shall take a break at midday for lunch and to download photos.

DAY 5, 6 AND 7: SAMBURU AND BUFFALO SPRINGS NATIONAL RESERVES – HOME OF THE SPECIAL FIVE

We then fly North as we enjoy views of Mt. Kenya, crossing the Equator towards Samburu. This spectacular reserve hosts some very unique wildlife such as the Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk, Grevy’s Zebra and Reticulated Giraffe; most of which are not easy to find South of the Equator. We shall also explore the neighbouring Buffalo Springs National Reserve; a popular site on all our Luxury Kenya Photography Safaris.

The mighty Ewaso Ng’iro North River meanders its way across these reserves giving life to this beautiful land. Local Doum Palms tangle their branches in the sky as if waving at the people, and provide the landscape with a beautiful touch. Enjoy photographing the local elephants and other members of the Big 5 on your game drives. Local birds include Somali Ostrich, Golden-breasted Starling and Vulturine Guineafowl.

DAY 8 AND 9: SOLIO RANCH AND GAME RESERVE – RHINOS, RHINOS AND MORE RHINOS

We shall have an early departure and drive to the Mt. Kenya region; where our Luxury Kenya Photography Safari continues. Solio Ranch and Game Reserve will be our next photography safari destination; located within the vast Laikipia region. Solio Ranch (45,000 acres) is an amazing savannah nestled between Mt. Kenya and Aberdare Ranges; and both mountains are clearly visible from Solio.

Solio Game Reserve, set up in 1970, is an amazing 19,000 acres allocated for the protection of rhinos. Both Black Rhinos and White Rhinos interact harmoniously in this great place. Solio ranch has the largest population of White Rhinos in the entire World. The rhinos bred here are often translocated to other conservation areas across the African continent.

The Solio rhino experience is a major highlight on our Luxury Kenya Photography Safaris. Other mammals here include African Lion, Spotted Hyena, Beisa Oryx, Common Impala, Leopard, Cheetah and Cape Buffalo. Highlight birds here include African Crowned Eagle, Grey Crowned Crane, White-bellied Bustard and Long-tailed Widowbird.

Nights at Solio.
DAY 10, 11, 12 AND 13: MASAI MARA – BOVID HERDS AND PREDATORS GALORE

We shall then fly to Masai Mara; where our Luxury Kenya Photography Safari adventure continues. Renowned for the annual wildebeest migration, which is often regarded as the 8th Wonder of the World, Masai Mara is the crown of our Luxury Kenya Photography Safaris. Considered the ultimate wildlife haven in Kenya and arguably the best photography safari destination in Africa, Masai Mara has a lot to offer.

We shall enjoy photography safari drives as we seek the numerous herbivores grazing the landscape in huge herds. We shall also track the Big Cats- Lion, Cheetah and Leopard; hyenas, jackals and much more. Masai Mara is indeed a top destination for predators and this experience is always a highlight on all our Luxury Kenya Photography Safaris. Highlight birds include Kori Bustard and Secretarybird.

We have several options for our base camp here. Depending on your interests and time of the year, we can choose to stay at:- Mara North Conservancy or Mara Naboisho Conservancy or Olare Matorogi Conservancy.

DAY 14: MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE TO NAIROBI

On this day, we shall enjoy an early morning safari drive in Masai Mara; seeking animals we may still require for our Luxury Kenya Photography Safari list.

We shall then fly to Nairobi, cruising across the Great Rift Valley. Later, we head to the airport; marking the end to our lovely Luxury Kenya Photography Safari.
